There is an orchid in Madagascar with a long spur where its nectar is kept beyond the reach of most insects. On seeing it in 1862, Darwin was awed. This flower meant that somewhere, undiscovered, a strange pollinator had to exist, the mysterious echo demanded by nature.

In 1907, long after his death, it was discovered. There it was: the insect with the long proboscis that had to exist for the flower. The oddly-shaped creature that the orchid needed to live.

The world is a strange place. There’s nothing more interesting or beautiful than it. We are fascinated by science, nature and the cosmos. These are the most beautiful stories, the stories we want to tell.
